The house dj that hates Dancers!

Wed night after a 4hr street session we thought we were done dancing but we decided to go MJQ to see our good friends and the amazing staff. Why not, it is the official Birthday of Michael Jackson right?? So we walk in and it was the best feeling ever!! Smiles and hugs from everyone, it's been that long. Last time we came was MAY for Funk Lordz anniversary.
Every dancer who hits clubs was there MrCool, Marquese Scott Dragon House! Funk Lordz! Stephanie Allofa SuttonMarcus Mj Johnson Bboy Jukes, Shakur etc close to 30 dancers total in the building.
Here is where it goes down! The so called DJ Culin who has a personal vendetta against dancers cuts off the music during the climax of the party and tells people to turn their cell phone lights off, no cameras allowed. Respectfully and shockingly the crowd does so instantly and continues to dance. He then aggressively stops the music like the drunk guy at a house party bumping the turntables. And shouts at the crowd Aint no breakdancing in here no more stop that shit you aint spending no money at the bar. instantly the crowd full of drunk people boooood the ego out of him. the dancers laugh and continued. 2mins later his courage is up again and he stops the music while I am dancing and said ya'll need to stop that shit, don't nobody wanna see your dumb ass dance!
Instantly the crowd starts booing louder than ever and he complains to security. Out of Respect of our brothers security jobs we peacefully said fuck it let's go! We left and about 60 plus people followed or just left the club period.

My thing is....
1.) It's Michael Jackson's Birthday and JeSsIcA VEgA! who loves him more than dancers?.
2.) about 40% of the crowd are professional dancers, but his arrogance will never let him know that.
3.) He calls himself a house dj, he plays afro house and deep soul house but has a problem when it's a group of people  of color dancing in a tribal circle.
Guess what for millions of year we have been dancing in circles, it's cultural but I guess he knows nothing about that.
4.)if you are going to play cultural music then learn about the culture...Vulture
5.) He never had but surely lost the respect of close to 50 dancers that never will support a single thing with his name on it!
ATLanta has over 500 dancers and most of them have rocked with us over the last 12 yrs at this club. But trash talking Djays who despise dancers while they play dance music is a total disgrace to MJQ & ATL.
We take pride in out city and hold our real D-jays above us as GODS!
Remember Dance music = Dancers
I hope his name is not on anything connected with house in the park! We will not support and we have people coming from out of town.
Support Real Djays, Real communities, Real Dancers
Peace Love & Funk
ZULU KING QUIC
P.S. In regards to the ignorant Breakdance comment, Nobody was breakin we were dancing Salsa with the ladies and poppin! So Toma!

  1. I have a letter going out to the owner of that venue today, to make sure they know that this DJ is killing their business. I hope that guy doesn't share in ownership. Sounds like he was going through withdrawal or something. Ha.

    1. I'm glad you did! MJQ was part of ATL HIstory but they chose a path with less culture as the rest of the uptight Club scene already is. Keep posted here if you want to see when Cultural but hip parties are happening!
P.S. We still love our Friday night Djays, The Funk Lordz Security group & Joy the Coolest Bartender JOY!
